Creating platforms for talents & social development

The dreams of a pre-teen “playful boy” that survived career imposition resonate here at DTR. After a decade of digression, he was grudgingly allowed to a “playing field” and inducted for studies in “play creation”. Diligently, the boy “played along” till he became a “playmaking” doctor.

DTR (Dr Tee Repertory) is a performing arts social laboratory for community development. It is envisioned to create platforms for talents enhancement and expression, family entertainment and social development.

“The Calabar Girl” is Tayo ISIJOLA’s retelling of The Woman of Calabar (2002), as written by a dramatist extraordinaire- Captain Elechi Amadi. It is a domestic comedy drama that
explores the theme of ethnic prejudice; a Nigerian reality that impedes development in the social space and beyond. The performance pitches passion against apprehension and love against fear in a racy and hilarious theatrical encounter.

‎Synopsis

Mrs Akrika refutes the love relationship between Adia and her son, Eme, who now works in Calabar. She will stop at nothing to sever the duo, just because the girl is from Calabar.
